My client’s daughter is at uni and stays in student accommodation during term time. She comes to stay with her mother over holidays (including summer) and some weekends.  Is my client still entitled to receive the SDP?  Are there any special rules for students or is it just the normal rules and case law like for anyone else who comes and goes?

Is your clients home also her daughters home. Does she normally reside there. Normally resides means usually resides and should be tested over a period to which usually can relate. A person who is temporarily absent from their normal home, continues to normally reside where they usually live and with the people they usually live with.
