Oh my soul!

I’ve just had cause to ring the old DLA intermediaries line. First time I’ve needed to do it for a while.

I was only on hold for less than 3 minutes.
The adviser I spoke to was business like and pleasant to speak to.
Everything got sorted really quickly.
It was like going back in time.

How I miss it. I hope they spot this. I love you DLA intermediaries… I love you!

I’ve this image of a 90 year old bloke zimming across the floor trying to turn off the Vivaldi button as the phone rings out endlessly and tripping over his ear trumpet for some reason.

No statistical significance to one call.

I’d have rung him straight back just to make sure I wasn’t having a waking dream.

Yes I used to love The four Seasons, but no longer.

I now have the image of Frankie Valli singing Big Girls Don’t Cry as the holding music.

Thanks :)

Awwww…..

It reminds me of when the main DWP call centre still had an Option 4 for IB. By the time of the dog days, it was always the same bloke who answered.  His name was Mr Gibson and he was charm personified (if you’re still out there somewhere Mr Gibson, my thanks to you). I always pictured him alone in what was once a fully staffed open plan office, in a wee pool of dimming light surrounded by an echoing silence. I don’t know what happened to him- one day there was no longer an IB option- and that (as they say) was that.

Perhaps he’s with Frank in some form of ‘old-style Civil Servant’ rest home?

..one day there was no longer an IB option

“Please note, the options have changed….” :)

I had the old problem with HMRC Intermediaries yesterday when I thought that had all been sorted.  The message you get on answer is now “Thank you for phoning HMRC intermediaries line for voluntary and charitable organisations” and I was then told to use the ext 3944 which turned out to be the ordinary HMRC public tax credits helpline.
