PIP delaying renewal claim decision - so we will stop your SDP

This report was disturbing enough:

https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/welfare-rights/news/item/delays-to-pip-reviews-are-leading-to-disabled-people-missing-out-on-24-million-every-month

But now this - has anyone else come across this scenario?

Earlier this year, ESA wrote to the claimant saying they would look again at the SDP award after November, if their PIP renewal decision was still subject to delay. I wrote to both ESA and PIP - neither ever replied.

Claimant now says ESA have written to say they will stop the SDP as PIP still haven’t made a decision - ‘to prevent overpayment’. They will pay it all back if PIP make a favourable decision; nice of them eh?

So….unacceptable delay on the part of one section of DWP leads to the claimant being punished via a severe cut in income from another…..???

Owing to the claimant’s reaction (very, very distressed) I have asked for urgent action from DWP..

What a disgrace.
