Hi All,

Just wondering fi anyone has had any practical experience of doing a late MR on JSA.

My client was living in the US with her partner who was posted overseas and they came back in Aug 2021 (7 months pregnant).  She applied for NI Credits for the period overseas and previously worked in the UK so should meet the NI conditions.

She applied for NS-JSA in March 2022 and got a decision simply stating they can’t pay her because the law says so.  Not particularly helpful.  Her partner has just contacted us this week for benefit advice.

She is still out of work so I am just wondering how complex challenging this March decision and the actively seeking work requirements would be or just whether she is best applying now?

Any experiences of proving late that she was actively seeking work.

Thanks for any tips or experience.
Amanda
