Can someone tell me if it is possible to self migrate, i.e. move yourself on to FSUC? if you can and someone out there has worked out the safest way to do it then can you let me know.

I don’t anticipate trying it any time soon, Glasgow doesn’t go FS until September anyway but if it can be done then i can’t find the rules anywhere.

Thanks

If the question is “Can a legacy benefit claimant choose to claim UC instead?” then the answer is “yes”. The only way that anybody can end up on UC at the moment is by choosing to make a claim. Whilst this will normally be the result of a change in circumstances forcing their hand (leading to this somewhat unhelpful but persistent idea of UC “triggers”), there is no reason why someone in a full service area can’t take it upon themselves to make a UC claim at any time and for any reason.
