A three judge panel of the Upper Tribunal has ordered a headmaster who failed to comply with a witness summons to pay a fine of £500 under section 25 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 and, under section 16(3) of the Contempt of Court Act 1981, has specified a term of 7 days imprisonment which will apply if payment is not made within the period specified -

having read it - I’m not surprised.  summonses are to be obeyed if not successfully challenged….
