UC and Child Care costs - time limit?

It’s Friday afternoon and my mind may be going…dragging through UC draft regs again, I’ve just read this:

29(2) ‘The child care costs condition cannot be met in respect of an assessment period if those charges are reported to the Secretary of State after the end of the assessment period following the assessment period in which they are paid.’

Soooo -? -  the charges are to be reported to DWP effectively on a monthly basis and if the claimant is late in doing so - no childcare money. And this won’t be part of any automatic reporting system, and will probably have to be reported online.

A new burden on the claimant in this simplified system?
