Discrepancy in rules between the two?

Hi All

Just thinking through various scenarios in anticipation of MM.

Thinking in particular about the difference in HB vs UC rules. For example, if there’s someone who’s on week 37 of a hospital inpatient spell. HB would continue to pay but UC would not as it’s over 26 weeks.

My instinct is that HCE would not be paid in this situation, but the Transitional Protection would be made up of the HB amount?

Any thoughts about this or other similar scenarios would be welcomed!
