Hello,
Please I have a client who had recently reach pension age and has apply for her state pension.
She will also get a private pension.
She lives with her grandson who is 7 years old. She was getting the child element on UC but that has stopped since she has reached pension age.
We did a calculation and it shows she will not be eligible for pension credit.
She wish to know if there is any other benefit she can get for looking after her grand son.
I have check but can think of anything.

Her appropriate minimum guarantee for PC should be at least £284.44 (£218.15 personal allowance and £66.29 for child born after 6 April 2017).

If her overall income exceeds this, then only other option I can think of is Child Benefit.

But surely she must be much better off anyway than under UC. I make it she would have got £681.37 pcm (£393.45 personal allowance and £287.92 for child born after 6 April 2017) which equates to £157.24 a week?

Thanks Paul.
She is in receipt of CB already.
Looks like she might not be eligible for anything else due to her income

Raissa, where is the child’s parents? Have you check to see if there is any entitlement to Guardian’s Allowance?
