Universal Credit Managed Migration - couple one in prison

A couple, receiving TCs, have received a MM notice and have until sometime in May to apply for UC.
She - receives CA and earnings (12 hours per week)
He - receives Armed Forces Compensations Scheme Guaranteed Income Payment (ignored as income for UC). He has been in prison for 5 weeks awaiting trial.

CA needs to stop. I think UC will still be claimed as a couple, but calculated as a single person. How will this affect Transitional Protection? Can they still receive it? If so, would they lose it when he comes out of prison?

Thank you

Hello,

Probably not the answer that you’re looking for but I’d be tempted to request an extension until their position is resolved one way or the other.
