Hi everyone

One of the key challenges faced by the advice sector today is to recruit, train and develop the workforce it needs to deliver and develop its services and reach.

Are you working on new initiatives to address these issues?
Are you working on a project that aims to tackle recruitment, retention or progression in the advice sector?

If so, we would really like to hear from you, about the work you are doing, the challenges that you have identified and overcome, and the solutions you are working on.

These are issues that affect all of us in the advice sector. We think its really important to share our thoughts and ideas on this very real issue.

Some background: the Advice Sector Workforce Development Fund Programme is currently funding a series of eight partnerships over two to three years to address challenges faced by London’s social welfare advice services. The initiatives to be taken by the partnerships started in summer and autumn 2023.

The Programme wants to test and scale up solutions to the advice workforce challenges – and specifically, to support training and development initiatives to attract new people into the advice sector and for existing staff to have clear progression pathways. The Advice Services Alliance is working with the London Legal Support Trust to share learning from the Advice Sector Workforce Development Fund Programme.

We also want to learn from others, and to help share ideas and good practice.

If you are working on an initiative that addresses these issues of recruitment, retention or progression in the advice sector, we would really like to hear from you. Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or post here.

Please tell us about the work you are doing to build a robust and sustainable advice workforce, the challenges that you have identified and overcome, and the solutions you are working on.

Thank you! I am really looking forward to hearing about the great things you are all doing.

Jo
