Thanks to Dr David Webster, Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, for sharing his analysis of the latest of UC sanctions stats.

We’ve added them as an update to: Universal credit sanction rate increases to more than 7 per cent for first time since 2018.

And here’s a direct link: https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/pdfs/Sanctions_Stats_Briefing_D_Webster_Feb24.docx

NB - previous updates from Dr Webster are available from the CPAG website: https://cpag.org.uk/policy-and-research/latest-policy-briefings-and-reports/david-webster-briefings

Thanks Shawn

The shocker here is that the stats of stat Xplore no longer record adverse/non adverse decisions so we can’t see the proportion of cases where good cause is accepted any more.

They’ve concealed the really damning evidence.
