Geoff Fimister is conducting research (funded by Marie Curie and led by King’s College London) seeking to identify current or recent benefit take-up campaigns and initiatives aimed at severely disabled people, their families and carers.

The questionnaire is attached. Please have a look, fill it in and return it to Geoff if you have relevant information. A key aim of this survey is to develop ideas and good practice guidance to be widely disseminated, for example to central and local government, health service practitioners, and advice service providers.

Geoff is looking for responses by the end of February.

Benefit take-up research – severely disabled people and those with serious long-term health conditions

You may recall the original questionnaire from this research, which was distributed earlier this year. The research is led by King’s College London and is funded by Marie Curie. This part of the project is being conducted by welfare rights specialist Geoff Fimister and aims to identify benefit take-up campaigns and initiatives targeted at severely disabled people and those with serious long-term health conditions.

The first wave of questionnaires produced half a dozen examples, but Geoff would like to boost this number, to get a wider picture, hence this second wave. It’s in a good cause – the idea is to develop guidance to spread good practice.

If you are involved in, or know of, such a take-up campaign or initiative, please complete the attached questionnaire (or pass it on as appropriate) and return it by the end of April 2024 to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
