Leaving prison after short sentence

Claimant jailed for under 6 months, retains entitlement to housing costs, out before this exhausts.

Released mid-month, AP looks to end 27th of the month.

I’m assuming no need for a new claim as housing costs kept it open.

At what point is the single person amount also payable?

Any thoughts/corrections welcome.

Supersessions based on changes of circumstance are, assuming they are correctly reported, effective from the start of the AP in which the change occurs. So, your client would expect to receive the standard allowance in their award for the AP in which they leave prison - in this case, sounds like the AP from 28/02 - 27/03.

Splendid, thank you.
