UC to be accelerated?
I can’t help but moot this…
Within days of each other we’ve got the departing head of the civil service saying it’s knackered while the Secretary of State is boasting to conference that it’s ready to roll out.
Does anyone believe him? IDS that is… To my mind this is a load of waffle designed to deflect criticism; “it’s knackered and it’s wasted loads of money”... “no it isn’t; we’re rolling it out next year!”
I believe IDS is of the view that failure to roll it out will be a huge indictment on his stewardship of the DWP (as if another one were needed). Therefore the roll out will happen and damn the consequences. After all, it will only hurt claimants, and that of course will be their own fault, as nobody at the DWP is ever wrong about anything and claimants are all feckless scroungers etc etc etc ad infinitum!
“Good News” Neil is in charge now ( remember this http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/6356/ ? ) - so no need for IDS to worry.
It’s Thank-You Letter time!!!!!
Interesting that only to be rolled out to new claims for single jobseekers -
Typical DWP double-speak! Partial roll-out trumpeted as full roll-out. What a surprise, the DWP releasing misleading statements!
