Debt Management Centres
Wed 13-Feb-08 09:56 AM

Only three of us welfs turned up for a meeting at Debt Centre Manchester (aka Trafford) earlier this week which was a surprise as most of us have something to say about them.

As with the other agencies these DCs are being 'centralised' to ensure a more efficient way of working (eh?). So now Manchester doesn't just deal with claimants from a limited geographical area but covers overpayments nationwide.

I'm reserving judgement. I think DWP's definition of efficiency isn't the same as us mere mortals.

With Ken's help I've attached the minutes which does give quite a bit of information which I hope you find useful. Hope to see more of you at the next meeting. If you want to go along the contact at DC M/C is lynda.greenhalgh1@dwp.gsi.gov.uk

Minutes herewith. Keep scrolling for info on implied consent and transitional organisation.

Thanks for that Sue. Interesting.

As for the meetings - I just do not have the time to travel from here to Manchester (and back). The LSC don't allow any leaway for meetings which would be useful. That would be far too sensible!!!

Thanks again.
