Skills for Justice is looking for your feedback on draft National Vocational Qualifications for Legal Advice ...

'Skills for Justice is working in consultation with the legal advice sector to develop a suite of National Vocational Qualifications for Legal Advice.

A draft framework has been developed (and) is now being consulted upon across the legal advice sector to ensure that the final version is fit for purpose and meets the needs and expectations of employers, practitioners and umbrella organisations across the legal advice sector.'

Deadline is 30 June 2008.

Thanks, Shawn, for putting this on. It`s timely as our team looking at making a qualification an essential requirement for being a WRO in this LA.
If any other Unit/Team ( LA, CABx, for-profits etc ) have gone down this route already and are prepared to share their experience, would you mind letting letting me know -

a) which qualification do you use ( understand NVQ in Advice and Guidance Levels 3 and 4 are popular ones ) ?

b) is the study of the qualification onerous/adversely time-consuming for those studying ?

c) is your employer signed-up to paying the Course Provider ( presumably local FE college ) ?

d) any other relevant points to consider........?
