The postholders will be responsible for providing high quality advice, consultancy and training on Social Security benefit entitlements.
Post 1: Job Reference 2577 - Children and Young People (Full-time permanent) - within our Children and Young People Social Work Team. The focus will be benefits particularly effecting young people (including young people in care and Care Leavers, disabled children and disabled young people) and families (including kinship carers and foster carers) and the postholder will also be responsible for undertaking Financial Support calculations in cases such as Special Guardianship and Adoption.
Post 2: Job Reference 2593 - Mental Health (Full-time temporary) - Health funded until 31/3/2020 with potential for additional funding to work in a primary health care setting with people using healthy minds and well-being services. The focus will be helping to ensure correct benefits entitlement for people accessing primary mental health care to enable financial stability for well-being and independence.
The post holders will:
You must be committed to the rights of claimants and to helping the Council and Clinical Commissioning Group meet responsibilities to those in need of its services. You must have recent experience of high-quality advice in Social Security law and practice, and experience of delivering training and undertaking regular and effective representation at tribunals. You must have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You must have the ability to design and produce effective information packages for both claimants and professionals.
