Welfare Rights Advisor

37.5 hours per week (2 part time posts, 2.5 days per week would be considered)
Location: Mix of home working and office – based in the Support Hub at the Royal Free Hospital

The Royal Free Charity stands at the threshold of its most important period of development. The pandemic has shown the importance and necessity of the support the Royal Free Charity can and has provided to staff and patients across our three hospitals sites.

We have continued to support patients and staff throughout the pandemic, constantly adapting and responding to changing environments and needs for support.

The Welfare Rights Advisor will report to the Support Hub Lead and Welfare Rights Supervisor.

The purpose of the role

To improve patient experience through providing welfare rights advice to people affected by long term health conditions at the Royal Free hospital. Through helping people with the practical aspects of being unwell, we aim to improve patient wellbeing and quality of life in times of difficulty.

We aim to play our part in addressing inequalities in health, through supporting with the wider determinants of health (e.g., finances, housing, employment); areas which can have a direct impact on someone’s health outcomes and recovery.

Another key purpose of this role is to support Royal Free London NHS Trust staff, through the support we give to their patients, where they don't have the time or expertise to support.

28 days’ paid holiday plus UK bank holidays each year.
