Organisation: Child Poverty Action Group
35 hours per week
£31,761 – £35,104
Deadline: 31 May, 2017
Child Poverty Action Group works on behalf of the one in four children in the UK growing up in poverty. It doesn’t have to be like this. We use our understanding of what causes poverty and the impact it has on children’s lives to campaign for policies that will prevent and solve poverty - for good. We provide training, advice and information to make sure hard-up families get the financial support they need. We also carry out high profile legal work to establish and protect families’ rights.
We’re seeking a welfare rights adviser to take forward our new early warning system project to ensure the experiences and voices of families with children are heard by policymakers and to propose policy and practice solutions which can help prevent families falling into hardship. You will have expert understanding of welfare rights and excellent communications skills to develop partnerships with external advice workers and to disseminate project findings. The ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines is also essential.
