Lambeth Council are seeking a temporary Welfare Rights Adviser for their welfare rights service, Every Pound Counts. The role involves providing advice on both general and complex welfare benefits issues to sick and disabled residents, and to other professionals, to maximise income, providing specialist casework support where required to ensure that successful claims are made. Candidates need to demonstrate detailed knowledge of welfare benefits and understanding of the impact of welfare reform and to communicate specialist knowledge in a straightforward and accessible way. The successful applicant will demonstrate a track record of delivering excellent benefit advice services. Recruitment is managed via an agency contract and is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance and reference checks.
