Team Manager

Organisation: Hertfordshire County Council, Money Advice Unit
37 hours per week
£38,237 to £41,025
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Deadline: 4 February, 2018

This is an excellent opportunity to join Hertfordshire County Council’s Money Advice Unit in a managerial role. The MAU is a well-established welfare rights service, serving the whole of Hertfordshire. We currently have a vacancy for a Team Manager to join the management team and help take the Unit forward at a time of massive changes in the benefit system. You will need detailed expert knowledge of that system, as well as the ability to supervise a group of highly-competent benefit advisers and be the project lead for various initiatives that the Unit undertakes. You will also need to represent the unit and contribute to policy work at local and national level.

Management experience is desirable, as is the vision to think of innovative ways, using developments in technology, of responding to the challenges that the Unit faces in continuing its highly successful and high-volume casework role. It’s a pressured role, but a vital one, and you’ll be a key part of a supportive and experienced staff group and a well-established management team.
