The postholder will:
Social security is one of the House of Commons Library’s busiest subject areas following the implementation of a significant amount of new legislation in recent years. It generates substantial numbers of constituency related questions from MPs and their staff, as well as being the subject of numerous debates in the Chamber and Westminster Hall.
We are seeking someone who has detailed knowledge and experience in this area to provide additional support to the existing specialists while we seek to extend our offer to customers and build resilience to meet levels of demand.
The appointed candidate must have the following:
Candidates should have a first class or upper second class honours degree, or a suitable postgraduate qualification, in a subject relevant to social security; or be able to demonstrate relevant work experience in the field of welfare rights/social security law and experience of policy analysis in social security or a related area.
