Citizens Advice Camden is a well-respected local charity with more than 80 years’ experience of delivering free, independent and impartial information, advice and casework services to those most in need.

We are looking for a generalist adviser with a broad knowledge of social welfare law issues such as benefits, housing, money problems and more to join our team based at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for a 12 month contract. This role, advising hospital staff, is the first of its kind in England and is part of the NHS’s move to support their own staff’s wellbeing.

If appointed you will also apply for GOSH honorary staff status and will be closely supported in developing your advice skills. Advice will predominately be given face-to-face and is delivered within the Hospital. The service aims to focus on those staff in most need.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our mutually supportive Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital which supports families of children treated there on a range of social welfare issues, including benefits, debt, and housing. This service is integrated into existing GOSH family services.

The successful candidate will be required to complete the GOSH honorary status process which includes an enhanced DBS check. You will be required to maintain honorary status and meet any additional NHS or GOSH requirements during your employment in this role. This role does not require direct contact with hospital patients.
