We are seeking a temporary Benefits Support Worker within our Mental Health Welfare Rights Service. Whilst this is a temporary post until at least 31st March 2023, we are hopeful that the funding will be extended beyond this date. The post-holder will be expected to deliver high quality benefits information and advice to health and social care professionals in mental health and directly to benefit claimants in this area where appropriate in order to assist in establishing their benefit rights.
The post-holder will:
You must be committed to the rights of claimants and to helping Health and Social Care meet its responsibility to those in need of its services. You must have recent experience of high-quality advice in Social Security law and practice, and experience of the benefits claiming process. You must have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You must have the ability to design and produce effective information for both claimants, carers and professionals.
