CPAG is looking for a talented and experienced Welfare Rights Adviser or someone legally qualified with knowledge of social security and tax credit legislation to provide high quality training, advice and consultancy to advisers and frontline staff on Judicial Review issues including drafting pre-action letters, preparing on-line resources and taking on cases where appropriate or building up networks of law firms/centres to refer the case on to. You will need substantial experience of engaging in the pre-action protocol for judicial review, including drafting letters before action.

Working as part of CPAG’s Advice and Rights team, you will be responsible for actively promoting the Judicial Review Project to welfare benefit advisers, and to organisations who provide benefits advice, particularly those who may not traditionally be linked to the advice sector. You will contribute to the broader work of the Advice and Rights Team and will ensure that the experiences of the project contribute to the policy and campaigns work of CPAG. You will need excellent written communications skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience and would be ideally suited to a secondment.
