BAC is expanding its outreach services in Lambeth foodbanks with a new full-time benefits advice role.

The post is supported by Norwood and Brixton Foodbank, part of the Lambeth Partnership of Foodbanks, which incorporates other foodbanks operating in the borough. The post has been made possible through grant funding from The Trussell Trust.

Brixton Advice Centre (BAC) is a dynamic independent advice centre based in London. Our core specialist services are in Housing, Benefits, and Debt. In addition, we provide extensive pro bono legal services through our award-winning Online Legal Clinic, staffed by solicitors and barristers in areas of law including Crime, Family, Employment and a wide range of litigation matters. We also provide a range of other generalist, outreach and other project services. We hold Lexcel, the Law Society’s Standard for excellence in practice management and client care

We seek an experienced full-time (35 hours per week) Benefits Advice Caseworker to deliver advice and casework services at a number of outreach venues in Lambeth operated by Norwood and Brixton Foodbank. We may be open to jobshare for candidate(s) who would prefer part-time. Your working week will be a mix of providing outreach at various foodbank hubs, and follow-up casework back at our main office on Railton Road, within easy walking distance of both Herne Hill Station and Brixton train/tube stations. The outreach venues are within short bus rides from the main office
