Age UK Wandsworth aims to improve the quality of life of older people and their carers in the London borough of Wandsworth through the provision of a range of preventative services.

We are seeking an experienced Advice Worker to join our busy Advice and Support Service team. This is an interesting and varied role providing advice and support to clients with complex needs at home visit, drop-in, by appointment, outreach and by telephone/email.

You will need extensive and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits with the ability to advise accurately and comprehensively on the whole range of working age and pension age benefit entitlements. You will also need to have extensive and up-to-date knowledge on housing, community care, disability rights and key issues affecting older people and their carers.

You will work as part of a small, busy public-facing team and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to high standards of customer care, will be highly organised and will have an understanding of the issues affecting older people.
