Are you a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills? Do you want to be part of an award-winning organisation that makes a difference? If so, Family Action has an exciting opportunity and would love to hear from you.

Family Action is a charity that transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation. We have been building stronger families since 1869 and today we work with over 60,000 families a year in around 160 community-based services, as well as supporting thousands more through our national programmes and our grants programmes.

We are looking for a Coordinator to ensure the delivery of expert welfare rights advice at a time when our Advice Service is more essential than ever. You will play a pivotal role in delivering advice for a range of clients and be a motivational leader for members of the advice team. Skilled at delivering welfare advice and quality assurance processes, you will transform the lives of our clients and ensure our Advice Service remains leading in its field.

A self-motivated leader, you will support the advice team to deliver effective welfare rights advice, information and advocacy and utilise case management systems. You will advise on specialist benefits, generalist level debt, housing, and income maximization, leading on triage as part of our telephone helpline and drop-in sessions if required and undertaking file reviews. You will continually drive advice worker development, providing line management and casework supervision for 3-4 advice staff and deputising for the Service Manager when required.

We are forward-looking, ambitious and with a commitment to continuous improvement. We are a people-focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operate with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills then we look forward to hearing from you.

In return we can offer you flexible working, generous leave entitlements, eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits. We have an excellent wellbeing offer and we’ll invest in your professional development with on-going quality training and career development opportunities. You’ll have the opportunity to work in an established, supportive and high-performing service and join an innovative, non-hierarchical organisation that values your opinion and encourages learning.

Family Action welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all that we do and know that greater diversity will lead to even greater results for families and children.
