Hello
Client has a 3 year old for whom they get 30 hrs childcare - they have to declare projected earnings quarterly and then get the payment. she normally works 18 hours per week but from next week will be on basic SSP only.
She has asked will she still be entitled to the 30 hrs childcare whilst off sick?
My guess is she will be off for a number of months.
Can anyone confirm whether or not she is still entitled to the 30 hours ?
Thanks in advance

You’re asking about the free childcare for working parents, not UC childcare, correct?

While she is on SSP, there is no minimum income requirement, so she would remain entitled.

Hello Charles,
Sorry I am useless re childcare. All I know is is that it is something the previous Govt brought in shortly before they went. I am not sure when the child hit 3, but previously there were 15 hours childcare which went up to 30.
Does that fit the working parents childcare deal? If it doesn’t I will get back to her tomorrow.

Yes, sounds like that is what she is talking about.

That’s great thanks Charles. That will relieve one of her worries.
