Hi all,

I’m trying to write a briefing update on ADP since its launch as we are a UK-wide charity and am really struggling to find any real life experience of how the process is going. I was wondering if any Scottish colleagues have assisted with an ADP claim as of yet and if so, where in the process are you up to and how has it gone so far?

Was in a seminar by SSS today - some things sound good, but I’m worried about their seeming lack of policies/procedures to:

-Identify people that can benefit from their much publicised Advocacy service, without the claimant explicitly asking for it.
-Identifying (and supporting) vulnerable claimants.
-Dealing with 3rd parties - whether that’s acting on behalf of claimants with reduced capacity, requesting info (implied consent etc) or escalating issues.

Sounds like there is a fairly significant element of wanting to do good, but not (yet) putting in place policies to ensure this is done consistently and to set standards.

Oh, and the claim form is 100 pages…
