How will this be treated in UC as it is not (currently, fingers crossed) on the list of unearned income?

On Twitter Housing Systems have posted that

“The income will be taxed and (we assume) treated as income for UC but will not be affected if the young person gets a job.”

I just found this https://gov.wales/written-statement-basic-income-pilot-care-leavers-wales

which states that: HMRC and DWP have confirmed that the payment will interact with the tax and benefits system and will be recognised as income

So looks like it will be taxable income, however for UC they will have to include it in the regs to count as income
