Is there any reason why the partner can’t end her UC claim, then move in and be added to his ESA claim?  That would entitle them to a double SDP.

This thread seems to say it’s theoretically possible (but that she would need to have a clear break of one assessment period) but difficult in practice: https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/15353  Although this was back in the days of the SDP gateway I assume the principle is still the same - a previous history of UC shouldn’t bar someone from becoming a partner on a legacy benefit claim.

Has anyone seen a client successfully navigate their way into a joint ESA claim?
