Client on PIP and ESA
Paid into her building society account for years
PIP runs out October, so new claim needed
She has a weird account number, but its the one DWP have been using
PIP refuse to recognise her b/soc details so refuse to allow new claim
B/soc insist details are correct, and DWP are in error
Brick wall time.
ideas how to escalate this?

I recently had a case where Pension Crediit was refused because the client did not call them back after he received a text asking him to call

I appealed the decision direct to the Tribunal and the case was heard last week,( just waiting for the decision notice)

The point is refusing a claim can be a decision in its own right and if they don’t say you need to have a mandatoory reconsideration then you don’t

You might have to be firm and ask the Judge to give Directions to the DWP but I got there in the end in my case

I’d suggest using the escalation contacts in the escalation points document which gets emailed around. Usually results in a quick resolution.
