UC whilst abroad

Under Reg 11 a claimant can get UC if they are temporarily abroad provided that the were ‘entitled’ to UC before they left the UK.

Assuming that the usual rules re capital and income are met if a cl. claimed UC on the first of the month but went abroad temporarily on the 3rd were they ‘entitled’ before they left the UK?

There doesn’t seem to be anything in the Regs to specify a minimum time of entitlement and all the commentary in Sweet& Maxwell says is that the cl. can’t claim when they are already abroad.

If anyone has any observations I would be grateful
