Mixed age couple - is claiming CA a change of circs for PC that might trigger a claim for UC?

Our thinking is that, as long as the overall effect is that GC is still due, once CA income taken into account & carer element added on, this should make no difference.
Hubbie is of pension age & claimant for PC; wife is of working age & looking to claim CA in respect of her mother who has recently joined their household.

Anyone advised this & found anything different please?

Wife claiming CA for taking care of her mother shouldn’t cause problems, provided they do retain some amount of entitlement to PCGC. Obviously the amount of CA is taken into account but as you note, the carer’s amount is also added to the PC award.
