Parity of esteem for Social Work evidence

Ok, so in the olden days, when I was in a Capita area, they were keen to give parity to clinical and social care evidence.

Now I’ve moved I don’t know for sure whether IAS do the same. Traditionally DWP were skeptical of social work evidence and that might have seeped into IAS.

Do they?

Hi Dan - how’s things with you?

We use evidence from social workers and care managers a lot (as we’re based in adult social care). Haven’t noticed any problems with IAS accepting it as valid evidence. They phone care management staff reasonably often for further info or to check something. And sometimes carry out a paper assessment as a result.
