We’ve got a client who has just re-commenced self-employment.  Works 10 - 15 hours a week, signed a contract that he hopes will net him profit of £20,000 but won’t get paid until December.

The business has been running over a year, end of last year he had a horrific life changing accident. So the nature of his self-employment has changed wholesale e.g. hours, type of work i.e previously hands on. Now housebound taking on contracts and sub contracting.

Looking at the ADM guidance V5051 - 5060 it’s arguable the assessment period for self-employed earners would commence around this period and earnings would be averaged out between now and December.

Have i understood this correctly as applied to ESA permitted work?
