Apply for supersession of DLA award for either middle or high rate care component, only difference is 6-month qualifying period for needs to have existed in live with AA rules but otherwise, he should be fine.

It should also be possible to claim AA instead of the DLA supersession, I don’t think there’s much practical difference either way.

Can’t really see why you’d bother to be honest, we regularly see DWP treat AA claims as DLA/PIP claims where people have existing entitlement and try to claim AA.
