Mixed age couple getting PC and UC

Hi, my client has got back to me and he was successful. He closed the UC claim and reported a change of circumstances to the council / made a new HB claim. HB is now in payment.

As long as your client reached State Pension age and started claiming Pension Credit (as a couple) before 15 May 2019, they should hopefully be able to try the same, close the UC claim and apply for HB. Usual caveats about possible overpayments.

I had exactly this scenario. Client closed UC claim and continuous PC claim enabled them to claim PaHB, which was revised back to the date it stopped.  I advised them to keep the arrears to pay off any overpayment generated.
