Pension Credit can now be claimed online
https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit/how-to-claim

You can use the online service if:
you have already claimed your State Pension, and
there are no children or young people included in your claim

Claims by phone or post still accepted.

We were told at the stakeholder forum last week that if you claim online the DWP will only pay the benefit into the bank account that they pay state pension into - which makes sense from a security point of view

I have done one of these by phone with a client last week. No questions are asked in the online claim about a bank account to receive the PC. I thought this a bit odd because a prior Carers Allowance online application had asked for bank account details.

For pension age claimants I frequently write ‘Pay to same account as State Pension’ when claiming AA and it’s never, to the best of my knowledge, caused a problem. Means clients don’t need to give me their account details.
