Document verification during lockdown
Hi
When I helped people make new claims for UC proof of capital, bank details, tenancy if private, etc were all provided over the counter at an evidence interview.
How are they doing it now?

All either assumed to be accurate in the online claim, or verified over the phone for now as far as I understand it - with physical confirmation to take place at a later date.
Of course this could all have been digitalised to begin with, but why make a digital service digital, eh?
I’m quite concerned that this will result in a bunch of overpayments to be clawed back in the future - With how many claims are normally wrongly refused or reduced, I can’t see how this easement can result in anything else.
