Have just been asked whether a Self Employed person who is entitled to the 80% from the Government in June could claim Carers Allowance for looking after his wife who is entitled to Standard DL of PIP. She also receives Contribution based ESA and is in the Support Group. No means tested benefits are appropriate but would claiming Carers Allowance then have an impact on him being able to access support from the Government in June?

Other way around isn’t it? Their earnings are still going to exceed the earnings limit for CA.

Sorry, just reread it and see you’re talking about someone self-employed. Suppose they could try and claim CA between now and June but don’t know enough about the self-employed scheme to comment on whether receiving CA would be a problem.
