ESA transitional addition ceases from 05/04/20
Possibly more a curio than anything but I had a gent in the other day who still receives a very small amount of transitional addition on his ESA from being a previous IB/IS/SDA case.
He was not pleased to hear that this transitional amount will no longer be paid from 5 April 2020 (although this is offset a bit by uprating so he will only be down a pound a week or so)
Seemingly this hard end date was baked in at the start of the transfer but failed to account for the 5 year freeze on the personal allowance.
[ Edited: 16 Jan 2020 at 07:59 pm by Elliot Kent ]New regulations out today have got rid of the end date - SI.No.102/2020 - opting for natural causes to end the addition .... if UC migration can be classed as that, along with erosion by uprating or change of circumstances .... here’s the rightsnet summary of the regs too.
My client will be pleased!
