I have a client who normally uses 2 elbow crutches but has now developed numbing sensation on thumb on right hand. GP concerned it could be due to use of crutches.
He has a PIP medical on Monday and is unsure if he should use 1 or both elbow crutches as he fears mobility component could be removed if he uses only 1

any caselaw etc

The question for PIP is how far he can walk aided. It shouldn’t make any difference whether his mobility is aided with 1 crutch or 2.

Obviously its possible that the PIP assessor may try to argue that going from 2 crutches to 1 is evidence of improvement or some such.

Use 2. A relative of mine has just been for an assessment and used 2. Also explained that due to neuropathy in hands, has difficulty using crutches. Noted down by assessor.
