The waiting time to get through to HMCTS is getting worse and worse. I’ve currently been on hold for 30 minutes. It never used to be this bad. Have they reduced staffing levels or are there just so many more people trying to phone them? Does anyone have a direct number for Birmingham?

Isn’t this connected with so many DWP and HMRC staff having been moved across to UC now?

Eta: whoops, that’s not what you’re talking about, excuse me.

I’ve given up trying to get through to DWP at all Paul and usually write to them instead.

Its not possible to phone Birmingham direct (only email) all calls have to be made to HMCTS national contact centre. The delay is probably related to HMCTS re-organisation and resulting increasing general administrative shambles (that results in more calls?) rather than, for example, an increase in the number of appeals. See various threads below!
