UC is a digital platform and….....but….....................why?
Is it because the ‘build’ is too crude or is it purely lack of people within the DWP or is it both or whatever else?
And you can upload Fit Notes to support your (non-digital) ESA claim but…. not (digital) UC!
You can upload but have to ask permission for the button to be activated/visible. Reason we were given was the volume of spam that bots were scripting to upload.
see https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/15015/ and https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/14288/
In most (all?) service centres only CVs and childcare costs can now be uploaded.
It seems somewhat farcical that what is sold to the public as a fully digital, online system, is actually not able to perform quite basic digital, online functions. How much did this IT cost the taxpayer, once again?

There’s no “cost” in the past sense. The cost is ongoing.
I was thinking of the cost figures bandied about at the time of the IT “re-set"back on IDS’ tenure as Minister.
Thanks for all the responses, really appreciated!
I was a trying to make a wider point and hoping the Works and Pension Committee now they have a subscription on Rightsnet and PAC etc would pick this up and question the Secretary of State.
We are 6.5 years into the UC rollout via the pilot areas.
Resets, spambots or otherwise i think its about time the Secretary of State gave a full explanation as to why not and when etc….............................
