This isn’t listed as disregarded income in the SPC regs - only guardian’s allowance which is different.
So I’m assuming it counts as income? But I have gut feeling it should be….
anyone able to help?

The reason why the list of disregarded income is so small in Schedule IV to the SPC Regs is that the items referred to therein must first fall within a category of income that is positively included in the first place by Reg 16.  Nothing in Reg 16 would allow special guardian’s allowance to be counted as income, therefore it isn’t and so no need to refer to it Schedule IV.

Same comments would apply to allowances for adoption and fostering, or providing temporary respite care.
