They make it sound like they are intending to publish it publicly. I wrote back asking when that will be.

My DWP FoI is currently a couple of days overdue.

Here are the two FoI requests:

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/monthly_lha_rates#outgoing-881355

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/monthly_lha_rates_2#outgoing-889403

Edited because I misread your post slightly.

And now DWP have refused my request, also saying it is intended for publication anyway.

I have asked them to review it.

One wonders when they “plan to release” the 2013/14 figures.

The VOA have now written to me saying, “[h]aving consulted with DWP, I can advise that preparatory work is progressing well, and the publication date is expected to be within the next four weeks.”

I know it’s not quite as simple as converting the current weekly rates: there needs to be a process of reverse engineering each year’s rates to arrive at this year’s rates, but really how hard can it be?

Yeah, it’s not very difficult!

I’ve always managed to successfully calculate the rates I’ve seen on a UC breakdown. However, all the examples I’ve had were simply a matter of:
1. taking the weekly LHA rate from 2013
2. converting to a monthly rate by using *52/12
3. uprating with any 1% or 3% allowed for that LHA rate for any particular year since.

What I’m not sure about is what they did when a rate was reduced to the 30th percentile in any year after 2013. Did they again use *52/12 in those years? Or a more accurate conversion?

Eventually I will find the time to go through and check my local ones are correct.
