Hi ...

Heads up from the DWP that they’re starting to write to people in mixed age couples who may be impacted by the changes being introduced from 15th May .... letters will start landing on doorsteps from tomorrow, so may see a spike in people seeking advice from next week?

NB - there’ll be three separate letters to those in receipt of (i) pension credit; (ii) housing benefit; or (iii) both ....

The DWP has also produced a stakeholder factsheet which we’ve uploaded here: https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/pdfs/Mixed__age_couples_factsheet_JAN19_1.pdf

Cheers -Shawn

What is not clear is that mixed age claimants that have to claim UC will also be affected by the bedroom tax. This is not mentioned here.

Now I wonder why that would be?
